In less than two weeks time, we will be ushering in Lunar New Year with our friends, family and loved ones over reunion dinner and festive snacks. Not to forget, Valentine’s Day is about a month away and Sentosa has put together a series of exciting festivities, auspicious promotions, and fun activities from 21 January to 26 February, themed Love in Springtime (爱在春季).
Who says roosters can’t fly into Sentosa? If you happen to be born in the year of the Rooster, you will be thrilled to know that you will get to enjoy one free island admission ticket and one free Singapore Cable Car Sky Pass for use within the first three days of the Lunar New Year (28 January to 30 January)! *Simply present your identity cards to collect the complimentary tickets at the redemption booth at Sentosa Station (Vivocity) from 21 – 22 January, 9am – 9pm.
Once in Sentosa, The State of Fun, you can expect areas including Palawan Green, Merlion Plaza and Beach Plaza lighted up like a festive playground, filled with entertainment and activities for everyone. Do not miss the Merlion Magic Lights! show too as you will mesmerised by the projection of icons and colours, coupled with music that will take place nightly from 21 January to 26 February.
You will be in for a special treat for both your ears and tummy on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year (元宵节) at Palawan Green as you get to enjoy free tang yuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) and have a picnic while enjoying an outdoor mini concert, Thank You For the Music (音乐的傻瓜). Be entertained with an evening of folk songs, oldies and Xin Yao music by active members from the 1980s local music scene as well as love songs as couples celebrate the special day, which is also considered the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
There are so many activities taking place in Sentosa during this ‘Love In Springtime’ celebration such as the series of Festival Performances, Ai Sculpture by Peter Draw, Pen-A-Wish & Prosperity Drums.
